Our workshops are an opportunity for wāhine to try out different art forms with different artists, and other women. Participants will learn more about themselves and the creative process.

 

We are trying out a different kind of project this time. In the morning there will be short workshops. In the afternoon you will be making and creating! 

WHERE

Newtown Park Apartments, 320 Mansfield Street, Newtown

 

WHEN

 The workshops starts on Thursday 16th October, 10am

Running every Thursday  - 23rd & 30th October, 6th, 13th, 20th of November -10am-2:30pm

Then we have a christmas present making party!!

Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th November 2025.

 

WHO

There are spaces available for 10 women.

 The project is facilitated by the Home Ground team, and features the most awesome artists as always.

Home Ground is a creativity and wellbeing programme for women who are in the justice system. Each programme uses creative arts practice, such as photography, creative writing, movement and music, as a non-threatening, strengths-based approach to self-empowerment, community connectedness and wellbeing.

We have put together four remote prison packs, each one with resources that will encourage wāhine to look after their creative wellbeing and maintain connection to friends and whānau.​
